Knock knock?

Is this thing on?

It is hard to write when you have a million things to say and no words to say them with.  I keep finding myself with lots of things I want to discuss with the world, but a complete inabililty to put them into words-and not just with the blog.  Even tonight, I want to write an email to a friend, more as a cry for help than a “hey how you doing”, but once again, I can’t find the words.

Where to start?  When we last left the blog back in May, I was puking up my toenails.  Nothing has changed there.  L

In fact, this is the result:

Guess what?

One should note, I wore a size 16 to Thanksgiving dinner.

The pain has continued.  To the point that I’m hitting a wall with finding coping mechanisms.  You know you are having a rough day when eight skeins of koigu doesn’t cheer you up!

I feel so blue.

So I’m looking for words.  I’m looking for a way to cope.  I’m starting to lose hope.  And koigu doesn’t even excite me.  What else can I say?

Since this is a knitting blog, I’m way behind on my sockapalooza socks.  They won’t be going in the mail on Thursday.  One is done, the other just a toe.  Perhaps tomorrow in jury duty I’ll make some progress.  I love Sock Hop yarn.  I hope my pal isn’t disappointed that I used a rather basic pattern to showcase the yarn.  Oh, and speaking of the pattern, what gives on a stretchy bindoff?  I tried the EZ sewn bindoff and I’m still not sure that it works.  Suggestions??

Sockapalooza! Sockapalooza!

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Thanks!

Thanks guys.  I've tried the ginger, in several forms, and it seems to be working.  In fact, my appetite is back-two days post surgery.  Bring on the ice cream!

So far, the surgical prognosis is pretty good.  The surgeon found a moderate amount of endometriosis, concentrated on my nerve endings, hence the pain.  With endo, you can have a tiny bit in the wrong place and be in agony or you could have a ton and never know a thing.

We should get the pathology reports tommorow, but they feel like I'm probably infection free.  This is even better news!  They were so confident that they didn't put in the central line as a precaution.

So with that, we're going ahead with our vacation plans and leaving for Albequrque on Friday.  Any must see sites? (and by sites I mean shopping opportunities!)

Oh, and one more thing, have you been over to Cider Moon yet?  Go check out their awesome, Exploding Clown Factory colourway.  Just one more way to note that my mind is truely twisted.  :)

Time for more gingerale.  And to figure out why typepad won't let me select more than one word for links.  Grrr.

Suggestions, folks?

I need some serious help with my nausea.  No one knows why I'm so nauseated, though one doctor suggested that it's just my body reacting to everything else that has gone south in my abdomen.  Let's just note, for those who may ask, it isn't morning sickness.  That I'm sure of.

That being said, I've tried pretty much everything prescription that I know of:

Ph3nergan (two forms), T!gan, Z0fran and now R3glan.  Nothing is working, folks.

What worked for you?  If it means standing on my head and chewing gum, I'm willing to try it.  I know, without a doubt, that anesthesia makes me violently ill, so this is only going to get worse post-surgically.

Send help!

Oh, and so this isn't totally devoid of fibery goodness:

Yarn!

Scarf yarn

I've decided on my yarn for my International Scarf Exchange 4 Scarf. I'm not sure I'll get a ruffle though, it is eating yarn like I can't believe!

The lovely yarns featured are Spinderella's Tussah Silk in Eggplant and Golden Pond, Chasing Rainbows Tussah Silk in Reds, and a mysterious fiber blend that I bought last year at Rhinebeck.  I'm sure it has silk in it, though I haven't a clue what the base fiber is or who dyed it.

In other news, T-7 days till I go back under the knife.  "Exploratory" surgery to just root around in my belly and see if they can find the small gnome that lives there.  Today I met with the first of many doctors-let me tell you, I just looooooove the infectious disease folks.  You meet the, uh, most interesting folks in their office.

Fiber Fiber Fiber

I have ONE invite to the coolest thing on the planet, Ravelry.

But you gotta earn it! I need opinions on my fiber choices for International Scarf Exchange 4. I've spun the beautiful autumn foilage fiber, but I don't have enough for the scarf of my choice. So what goes best with it? Leave a comment and let me know! If you want the Ravelry invite, I'll choose from the commenters-so mention if you're in it for the invite!

I'm planning to make the Flirty Ruffled Edged Scarf from The Natural Knitter, however, I plan to knit it totally different. I want to knit it lengthwise and then pick up stitches for the ruffles at the ends.

I figure I need about 400yds of handspun goodness for this-right now, I have 150yds of the primary colour. What goes with it best? ISE Montage

More details on all the beautiful fiber is in my Flickr, as always!

I'll pick a commenter tommorow morning, say 9 AM CST!
