Rock my Marbles
My Socks that Rock arrived last night, direct from Blue Moon. I ordered Carbon, Queen Rock, Marbles, and Fire on the Mountain.
I now understand why people are willing to sell their children for this stuff. I'm willing to give up Koigu for it. That's serious, people.
Everyone is knitting Jaywalker, especially Cara. I started a pair way back in December that were too small. New yarn...evening on the couch...what was I to do?
I chose the one I like the least. Marbles. Oh man, once I started winding, I was in looooove. I decided to mix things up a bit, using Natalia's toe up instructions, a bigger size, and bigger needles. Remember back in science class when you used to change ONE variable at a time? There was a reason for that.
Toe for a GIANT!
Needless to say, I'll be trying again, but I don't mind. Knitting with this stuff is a dream.

Wowzers! That is very gorgeous yarn!

I've got toe-up instructions using 5 needles if you're feeling adventerous. No stitch counting, no row counting, just measuring the length and width of your foot. My beginning knitting project and so far relatively painless.

You are so right - it's much softer than koigu. Sometimes I have to check the label to see if I'm really knitting wool. :-)
They're going to be beautiful!

Oh and I'm always surprised - the colorways I think I'm not going to like so much end up being ones I love. I haven't knit a colorway I didn't like yet.
