Is this thing on?
It is hard to write when you have a million things to say and no words to say them with. I keep finding myself with lots of things I want to discuss with the world, but a complete inabililty to put them into words-and not just with the blog. Even tonight, I want to write an email to a friend, more as a cry for help than a “hey how you doing”, but once again, I can’t find the words.
Where to start? When we last left the blog back in May, I was puking up my toenails. Nothing has changed there. L
In fact, this is the result:
One should note, I wore a size 16 to Thanksgiving dinner.
The pain has continued. To the point that I’m hitting a wall with finding coping mechanisms. You know you are having a rough day when eight skeins of koigu doesn’t cheer you up!
So I’m looking for words. I’m looking for a way to cope. I’m starting to lose hope. And koigu doesn’t even excite me. What else can I say?
Since this is a knitting blog, I’m way behind on my sockapalooza socks. They won’t be going in the mail on Thursday. One is done, the other just a toe. Perhaps tomorrow in jury duty I’ll make some progress. I love Sock Hop yarn. I hope my pal isn’t disappointed that I used a rather basic pattern to showcase the yarn. Oh, and speaking of the pattern, what gives on a stretchy bindoff? I tried the EZ sewn bindoff and I’m still not sure that it works. Suggestions??
Thanks for listening to me ramble.
Very pretty sock! If the Koigu didn't work, perhaps the sale this weekend at YE will? :)

I like the look of the EZ sewn bindoff, but I always find it too ... binding (heh).
I use the Russian bind-off for most of my toe-up socks now. This is where you k2tog (or p2tog depending on what the second stitch of the pair is) and then slip that resulting stitch back to the needle and k2tog or p2tog it with the following stitch. It makes a neat, stretchy bind-off.
Gorgeous koigu, and I hope you start to feel better soon. :(

I'm thinking about you Jenn <3

The sock is beautiful, though, the colors are really very lovely. If it were me, I'd be fine waiting on socks that pretty. No suggestions on the bind off. I've only managed one sock to date. :)
I'm so sorry for your pain. I do hope that goes away soon. Glad to see you posting again, I've been wondering how you were doing.

Hey glad to see you back I was starting to get worried. I use the Russian bind of as well I love it. I am sorry but your socks are not done either. I and almost to the toe on top-down socks. They should be ready to go by the beginning of the week. So sorry you are still ill. Hope all else is well.

I am worried about you and hope that you will find some relief to your pain and a cure for what ails you. Have you tried alternative medicine - acupuncture perhaps? You are such a good person and I'll be praying for good things to come your way in the form of a cure.

I just found your blog - I hope you get some relief from the pain soon, and get back to eating and keeping things down. I've gone through a period where I dropped a couple of sizes due to stress/digestion issues, and it can be scary. Thinking of you.

Lovely sock, it is the right decision to use simple patterns to show off yummy yarn, nice work!
Hope you are feeling better soon, acupuncture can be successful in helping solve some health issues, just a thought. Good Luck!

I'm sorry that you are still feeling so ill. Like you say, there are really no words. Obviously, lots of people are thinking about you though, and all that good energy certainly can't hurt. I'm heading to the Edmonton Folk Music festival this weekend, and the temperature is going to be getting down into the single digits (I guess that's the 40s in Farenheit??), so that nice warm homespun scarf you knit will be my most choice accessory.

That really sucks that you are still feeling so ill. On the plus side is the weight loss, though getting it due to pain and puking can't be fun. And I know you are really ill if the koigu doesn't make you smile. Take care of yourself and know that your presence in the blog community is missed!! I'm glad you finally updated!

I'm so sorry that you are still feeling so ill! I do hope that you feel better soon. I must also vote "Aye" for acupuncture. It was very helpful for Skully (the dog), and humanwise, my mom and cousin both swear by it.

Take all the pain medicine. Be easy with activity.

Hope all is well. I was wondering if you got your socks ok and how you like them. Best of wishes.

strange question from left field as I don't know you but have they since tested you for Celiac Disease? It has many different symptoms and issues related by easy to diagnosis.

I'll be sending you socks by the week's end. Hopefully, they will help cure what ails you.

Hi! i am checking through my "blogs to read" list and realized it has been ages since I checked here (or ages since you have posted - it works out to the same thing). I hope you are feeling better than at the time of your last post. The blogosphere is worried - how about some news?
