It's time for us to part. I can't say I'll shed a tear. For some reason, this pattern, this yarn...it just didn't do it for me. The pattern? An easy knit-the Baby Cable Rib from Sensational Knit Socks. The yarn? Meteorite from Vesper. Needles? Size 3 and Size 2 Addis. But sheesh, these kiddos took a long time.
Mailing day makes me nervous (especially when you are soaking wet on the blockers at 9PM the night before!)! I wonder, will you get there okay? And will you do, what will she think? It's so nerve wracking to send off hand-knits to another knitter. Will she catch the missed cable? Will you "go" with her shoes? Are you planning to fall apart the first time someone handles you rough?
And then there is the postcard. Apparently Fort Worth is all out. My pal-my apologies. I tried.
Oh, and what do you do with the little ball of leftover sock yarn?
Farewell socks-do me proud!
-da knitter
Next time: The sheep of many colours, green sock yarn nummy-ness, and even more socks!
they are perfect! and the perfect recipient of handknits is indeed another knitter --- they know the time and care that goes into every stitch!
